The inspiration for this shape is the very common bench work knife called a "Sloyd". The Sloyd knives were a no nonsense heavy duty fixed blade work knife, with a short clipped point and an oval hardwood handle. My version refines the shape a bit and adds a Scandinavian flair to it with a bevel-to-edge grind starting at the middle of the blade. ATS-34 was used for the blade and 416SS for the fullered bolsters. Scales are amber sambar stag. Gold plated fasteners, except for the 3/16" pivot hardware, were used to accent the piece. Dimensions: Length open, 7 5/8" Blade length, 3 3/8"
